Santa Fe Preparatory School, which she attended until 1986, when she graduated. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1990 with the major of theater. During fall of 1988 Gunn spent a semester abroad to pursue studies at the British American Drama Academy. When she moved to Laurel Canyon Los Angeles she shared a house with Pamela Adlon. Gunn's part in AMC's drama Breaking as Skyler white has become her most well-known. She was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding supporting actress in the Drama Series for her performance winning in 2013 and 2014.
